Welcome to Berk
A village that has fought dragons for seven generations, and one boy who would rather understand them.
How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. is a 60-minute musical based on the Academy Award–nominated DreamWorks film. It follows Hiccup, a young Viking who breaks with everything his village believes and befriends the dragon he was supposed to kill — a Night Fury he names Toothless. Together they take on the odds to save both their worlds.
Our production brings 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to the stage, backed by parent volunteers building sets, sewing costumes, running lights and selling popcorn. Finding Nemo Jr. put more than 50 students on stage last year. We would love more this year.
Dragon Training
Everyone who auditions and commits to the rehearsal schedule is in the show.
Auditions are open to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. No experience necessary — every year a good number of our cast have never been on a stage before, and there is a place in this show for all of them. The script is written so that the dragon groups grow to fit the cast that turns up.
Dates, the audition packet and the sign-up will be posted in September.

The cast list, the crew credits and every headshot go up during show week. Both pages sit behind a sign-in, because they name and show our students.
