The Story

About the Show

A village that has fought dragons for seven generations, and one boy who would rather understand them.

How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. is a 60-minute musical based on the Academy Award–nominated DreamWorks film. It follows Hiccup, a young Viking who befriends the dragon he was supposed to kill, a Night Fury he names Toothless.

Our production puts 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on the stage, backed by parent volunteers building sets, sewing costumes, running lights and selling popcorn. More than 50 students took part in last year’s school play. We would love even more this year.

September

Auditions

Everyone who auditions and commits to the rehearsal schedule is in the show.

Auditions are open to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, and no experience is necessary. The script grows to fit the cast. The audition decides which part your child plays, not whether they are in it.

Dates, the audition packet and the sign-up link will be posted in September. Auditions are usually held over two afternoons in October.

Meet the Cast

The Digital Program will include the cast list, crew credits and headshots during show week. It sits behind a sign-in because it names and shows our students.
