The story

Berk

A village that has fought dragons for seven generations, and one boy who would rather understand them.

How To Train Your Dragon The Musical JR. is a 60-minute musical based on the Academy Award–nominated DreamWorks film. It follows Hiccup, a young Viking who breaks with everything his village believes and befriends the dragon he was supposed to kill — a Night Fury he names Toothless. Together they take on the odds to save both their worlds.

Our production puts 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on the stage, backed by parent volunteers building sets, sewing costumes, running lights and selling popcorn. Finding Nemo Jr. put more than 50 students on stage last year. We would love more this year.

Auditions · September

Fly

Everyone who auditions and commits to the rehearsal schedule is in the show.

Auditions are open to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, and no experience is necessary. The script grows to fit the cast — the dragon groups take as many performers as we have. The audition decides which part your child plays, not whether they are in it.

Dates, the audition packet and the sign-up link are posted here in September. Auditions are usually held over two afternoons in October.
